Wobbly Life: Mission Number Island!
Pizza towers, square vegetable gardens and an arcade high-score board: seven missions on a Wobbly Life-inspired island turn the classic start-of-Grade-5 maths topics into a game. Can you become the island champion?
What you practise
- The big times tables (11 to 20) with two mental-maths tricks: split into tens and ones, and count back from 20. Includes reverse and division tasks, an error-detective round and a bonus round with both factors above 10.
- Square numbers from 1 · 1 to 20 · 20, including the “staircase trick” that grows one square garden into the next.
- Raw data, tally marks with bundles of five, frequency tables and bar charts, including reading a chart with a scale.
- Predecessor and successor, < and >, ordering numbers and reading a number line.
- Rounding to tens, hundreds and thousands, plus “which numbers round to …?” puzzles.
- A mixed boss level with a 3-minute speed round, a word problem and a self-check traffic light.
In the pack: seven A4 mission pages in three stages (about 90 minutes in total, best spread over several days), plus two separate pages with answers, typical mistakes and tips for parents. Every page comes in English (US) and German (as Mission Zahleninsel!).
You can also complete the interactive version in your browser, in English or German. It checks every closed task, lets you draw the bar chart and place arrows on the number line, saves answers locally when your browser allows it, and includes an endless times-table trainer. The interactive page contains its own images and fonts and can be saved for offline use; answers are not sent to a server.
For printing, use A4 at 100%. Keep the answer key separate until the missions are done.
